Welcome to the Cornell Law School community

Cornell Law School is a small, top-tiered law school located in stunning surroundings of
natural beauty. We enroll only 190-195 JD students and 55-60 graduate LL.M. students each
year to ensure that we maintain a close knit academic environment. Our students not only
benefit from our small class size but also from one of the lowest student to faculty
ratios in legal education (10.4 to 1).

The law is approached as a humanistic science at Cornell Law School. Students learn the
principles, skills and ethics of being a lawyer and study the context in which laws are
made. The academic environment at the law school can be best described as a close knit
community of scholars. Our students view each other as colleagues instead of competitors.
Our goal is to produce “lawyers in the best sense”!
